Search Queries
A name or place submitted through a search tool is delivered directly to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the entry and supplies the response. Mason County Criminal History does not keep or record those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
When you email us, the message is retained so that we can respond. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation. We do not otherwise provide the message to outside parties.

No Criminal-Record Data on File
Mason County Criminal History does not build, keep, or sell a database of personal criminal records. Its general reference material identifies official routes such as the Mason County Sheriff, the combined County and District Clerk, the Texas Department of Public Safety Crime Records Division, and the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. Texas Government Code Chapter 411 controls access to and dissemination of criminal history record information held by DPS. The Texas Public Information Act, Government Code Chapter 552, governs requests to covered public bodies, not records stored by this private website. Visitor information is not assembled into a consumer report, and this website is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the search boxes that appear on the website. A search partner's own privacy policy applies to information entered into its tool. Those companies determine their retention and disclosure practices, which are beyond our control. Review the applicable partner policy before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Mason County offices, Texas courts and agencies, legal-aid resources, or outside search tools. Once a visitor follows one of those links, the destination's privacy terms govern that visit. Check those terms before providing personal information.
